The Wangari Maathai Foundation was established to initiate and support projects that further the values, legacy, vision and commitment of Wangari Muta Maathai and her understanding of the interconnectedness of the environment, democracy and peace.
Our Role
The foundation approached us to lead in their brand development, brand launch and marketing strategy in order to secure funding for their flagship project ‘The Wangari Muta Maathai House’ . During our engagement we helped developed their brand profile, visual brand elements, marketing plan and launch strategies, including multiple videos showcasing the foundation’s history and vision, as well as guerilla marketing activities and content development for the #mylittlething online campaign.
Outcomes
The foundation continues to grow and expand its work and impact whilst fundraising is on-going for ‘The Wangari Muta Maathai House’ following a successful launch event. The #mylittlething online campaign generated awareness and momentum across the globe with contributions from famous faces including Oprah Winfrey and Bill Clinton to drive the message of everyone doing their ‘littlething’ in the spirit of Wangari Maathai’s vision and commitment to peace and environmental protection.
